Indianapolis Colts Win Super Bowl XLI

It was a wet and wild Super Bowl, and also the winning conditions for Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts. A team built for indoors found its footing on a rain-soaked track and outplayed the Chicago Bears to win the NFL title 29-17 .
The Colts were far less sloppy, particularly their star quarterback, who proved he can indeed win the big game — the biggest game.

New Rocawear line.....Bella Roc

Rocawear clothing has a new sister line. Rocawear has announced the launch of Bella Roc, a limited-edition women’s line with items ranging from $125 to $4,000 wholesale. The brand will include crystals and metallic gold stitching on jeans, and will eventually add on a full line of women's sportswear and outerwear. The Bella Roc brand's launch comes briefly after Rocawear's custom fit men's collection, which launched during 2006's New York Fashion Week. Jay-Z's Rocawear brand, which has been under scrutiny lately, still has never seen such demand for pricier products. The clothing company seems to be cruising to new heights with the combined leadership of CMO Jameel Spencer, eFashion Solutions, and PepperJam management. Jay-Z wants to lock down the womens clothing market and very well may do so with this move if the line is up to par.
Bella Roc, will be a limited-edition clothing line targeting women in the 25- to 45-year-old range. Each Bella Roc garment will have expensive embellishments within the design. Bella Roc will not be taking its styling cues from the more hip-hop influenced Rocawear, also owned by Jay-Z. A specific launch date for the Bella Roc clothing brand has not been announced.

Abidan Raphael, 27, was ejected from the NEC Arena with his girlfriend Joanne Bushell, 22, twice for attempting to enter the Kanye West concert, without a ticket.
The concert was the final date on West's five-date Touch The Sky Tour, which wrapped up at the NEC Arena. Over 12,000 people in attended the concert, which was in progress when the shooting occurred.
Prosecutors said Raphael and others had been found by security guards in an area of a bar that had been close and were promptly thrown out of the venue.

Raphael then produced a handgun and fired six shots, four of which struck 46-year-old John Tough in the face, stomach and foot. Another guard was shot in the abdomen.
A jury found Raphael guilty of three charges of attempted murder and other firearms and assault violations.

Jay Z. Slams new deal with Coca Cola

Jay-Z's push into the world of advertising and marketing continues, as his Rocawear company will help soft drink giant Coca-Cola relaunch its Cherry Coke line of soda.
According to industry trade publication Brand Week, Jay-Z will help design the can and the television commercials, in addition to appearing at the relaunch of the Cherry Coke brand on Feb. 7 during New York's Fashion Week.
Coca-Cola hopes the new union will be fruitful, as the Cherry Coke brand has relaunched three times since its debut in 1985, and has seen sales lag behind rivals' cherry cola products.
Jay-Z's can will feature a cityscape design, and a full marketing blitz for Internet, radio, TV and print will start early next month. A Jay-Z song will be featured as the commercial's soundtrack.
The rapper landed the deal with coke after an eight-minute video clip from Jay-Z's Radio City Music Hall started appearing on various Internet file trading sites.
"It's his new opportunity to expand his standing in the business world," Jameel Spencer, CMO, Rocawear said. "Besides just recording, he's making TV commercials and campaigns for brands . . .who is better than Coke? They're the biggest...His role is helping brands not get it wrong the way McDonald's did with African Americans rapping about French fries... There's a reassurance that they won't appear like an out-of-touch uncle trying to act cool."
In related news, Jay-Z will appear in a new Superbowl XLI commercial with former Miami Dolphins coach Don Shula, promoting Bud Light.
The rapper, born Shawn Carter, has been co-brand director for Budweiser Select since Oct. 2006.
Jay-Z also recently announced a partnership with GM to produce "Jay-Z Blue," a custom color for the auto maker's Yukon Denali SUV.

Brandy.....Charges may follow

The California Highway Patrol recommended this morning that actress-singer Brandy be charged with vehicular manslaughter in a freeway crash that killed a woman last month.
The California Highway Patrol referred the matter to the city attorney's office for review.
The charge carries a maximum sentence of one year in county jail and a $1,000 fine, but Prosecutors couldn't say when they would make a decision about whether to bring a case. If charged, Brandy wouldn't necessarily have to appear in court and could have her lawyer enter a plea.
Brandy has publicly expressed condolences to the victim's family last week. Highway Patrol also has said Brandy wasn't under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the crash.
Brandy, 27, was driving a Land Rover on Interstate 405 on Dec. 30 when traffic slowed and her vehicle struck the back of Honda driven by Awatef Aboudihaj, 38.
Aboudihaj's car hit another vehicle, slid sideways into the center divider and was then hit by another car. Aboudihaj died at a hospital from blunt-force injuries, according to the coroner's office.
