IRS...On Xzibit's Heels

Xzibit was summoned by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for being delinquent on his taxes.

According to reports...Xzibit ( born Alvin Joiner), owes the IRS $501,840 in federal taxes.

The debt resulted from a $296,355 lien filed by the IRS in Los Angeles County on April 17, 2008.

That action was followed by a $205,485 lien the IRS filed in the Los Angeles County Recorder of Deeds office on February. 4, 2009

Xzibit is the latest celebrity to come under fire for failing to pay taxes.

Last Month the New York Department of Taxation repossessed Method Man's 2008 Lincoln Navigator.

The seizure took place at Method's Staten Island home, after Method Man failed to pay $52,503 in personal income taxes.

Method Man escapes jail time

Method Man escaped jail time in a Brooklyn courtroom by reaching a plea deal on drug charges stemming from a May traffic stop.

Meth, born Clifford Smith, agreed to join the Brooklyn District Attorney's office's Choices and Consequences program as part of his community service. His defense attorney, Peter Frankel, said that he was also confident that his client would escape jail time.

"He's never been in trouble with the law before. This is a guy who flies in the face of all stereotypes about rappers," he said.

Meth was arrested May 17 after toll workers at the Battery Tunnel smelled marijuana coming from his 2005 Lincoln Navigator. After being pulled over, police officers discovered marijuana in the car.
