Studio 72 set to open

Jermaine Dupri will officially open his new Studio 72 nightclub, this Wednesday in Tucker, Georgia.

A number of Dupri's celebrity friends will join Dupri to celebrate the official grand opening of Studio 72, Dupri's latest business venture.

"This isn't just a club, this will be history for my generation," Dupri said. "Every night is a different theme. Fridays are Krush Groove. Every Friday night we’ll have a different legendary DJ, starting with Frank Ski then the following week we have Biz Markie, then D-Nice. etc."

The club is inspired by legendary New York club Studio 54.

Studio 72 boasts a furnished lobby area with five chandeliers, tons of flat screen TV's, a huge aquarium, art on the ceiling and other unique amenities.

Young, Rich, and Dangerous

Producer extraordinaire Jermaine Dupri, 35, can add one more title to his resume: author. The young mogul has written his autobiography which covers an amazing career from his teenage years as a dancer for Whodini to his current position as president of Island/Def Jam Urban.
Young, Rich, and Dangerous is more than just a memoir by Jermaine Dupri, one of this generation's most interesting and gifted young producers and songwriters. It's a road map for the hundreds of thousands of young kids who are dreaming the new American Dream of making it in the music business through rapping or owning their own independent record label.
Nobody is more qualified to hold forth on the subject than Dupri but he will recount in colorful anecdotes about life in the studio with the likes of Usher, Lil'Jon, Bow Wow and Mariah Carey.

He'll dish on some of his old rivalries and chronicle some of his closest relationships both personal and professional including his relationship with Janet Jackson.

The book will also trace Dupri's event-packed life with photographs of him behind the scenes with celebrities at parties and at award shows.

The Universal Music Group announced Jermaine Dupri as new president of urban music for Island Records today. Dupri stepped down as president of urban music at Virgin in October 2006. At Virgin he was responsible for signing Dem Franchize Boyz and pacted with OutKast member Big Boi's Purple Ribbon imprint. Dupri exited Virgin following lackluster sales of his girlfriend Janet Jackson's latest disc, "20 Y.O," which Dupri co-executive produced.As a producer, he's helmed hits for Usher, Mariah Carey and TLC, among many others.
