He tops the list of this year's contenders with nine nominations, followed by Lil' Wayne with seven nominations, Kanye West with six, Common with five, Jay Z is up for four awards, and Ludacris and 50 Cent both have three nominations.
Now, in their second year, BET will head back to Atlanta, GA for the show, which is scheduled to air October 17.
"We are so glad to be back in Atlanta again for this year's version of what, in its debut, became the single hottest show in hip-hop," said Stephen Hill, executive vice president of entertainment, music and talent at BET.

BET has also revealed that Nelly, Lil' Wayne, Kanye West and Common will perform at the event. As part of the show, the network will also honor KRS-One with the "I Am Hip-Hop" icon award.
