Not Lookin Good For Weezy...

In a New York court room, Judge Solomon decided to reopen the hearing on whether or not to include the .40 caliber handgun in the case upon prosecutor Joan Illuzi-Orbon’s request. In light of learning of an undisclosed conversation between the arresting officer and Lil Wayne, the prosecutor asked the judge to re-evaluate.

Officer Illuzi-Orbon busted Lil Wayne after she boarded his tour bus allegedly smelling marijuana. She claims to have witnessed Wayne trying to hide a gun as she approached him in the vehicle.

Wayne’s lawyer Stacey Richman believes the officer falsely claimed that she smelled smoke in order to illegally get into the vehicle. Lil Wayne had just finished a performance at the Beacon Theatre.

Wayne, who pled not guilty and is free on $70,000 bail, is scheduled to return to court on May 20.

Tyrese Wins In Court

Tyrese was hauled back into court by his estranged wife. Her name is Norma Mitchell, and on January 29th in Los Angeles, she filed court papers that put a new wrinkle in their on-going divorce proceedings.

The couple have a young daughter together and Mitchell was seeking modification of their custody arrangment , as well as a change in child & spousal support, as well as attorney fees.
According to the court documents, Mitchell claims Gibson was an absentee-father who didn’t support her or their daughter. The couple filed for divorce last October after 10 months of marriage.
Well here is the outcome of the proceedings...

His estranged Wife Norma doesn't get a piece of any of Tyrese's possessions -- not his production company, not his cars, not his house ... nothing.

The prenup does state that Norma would get a lump sum of $50,000 for every year that they were married -- maxed out at 10 years.

They was only married 10 months.

Wayne Loses In Court

A state court has refused to block the upcoming release of a new controversial documentary on Lil Wayne named The Carter.

The film is being released by QD3 Entertainment, a company owned by producer Quincy Jones III, which has also released Hip-Hop themed titles like Thug Angel, The Freshest Kids, the Beef series and others.

Lil Wayne filed a lawsuit against QD3 Entertainment, claiming the company reneged on a deal that would have allowed him to have approval over the films final cut.

The rapper reportedly took issue with certain scenes displaying his drug use in the documentary, which follows him all over the country and to Amsterdam.

According to the lawsuit, Lil Wayne’s manager reviewed The Carter in December and requested that the scenes in question be removed.

A second cut also failed to live to his manager’s expectations in January and the scenes in question were still in the film when it premiered during the Sundance Film Festival a few weeks later, prompting the lawsuit.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Mink denied a request for a preliminary injunction, paving for the way for QD3 to seed distribution for the project.

Jones' Trial Pushed Back

Jim Jones made a scheduled court appearance yesterday in his misdemeanor assault case involving Ne-Yo’s manager, Javon Smith, with Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Felicia Mennin adjourning the case until June 4th.

The move comes after Jones refused a plea deal during his last appearance on March 24th, the same day his album, "Pray IV Reign", hit stores.
Jones’ lawyer Scott Leemon was dismissive over the possibility of a bargain being reached, saying, “I always listen but at this point we’re preparing for trial.”
Leemon also reiterated his doubts over the legitimacy of the accusations made by Javon Smith, the victim in the case. “There were no injuries here and this is all revolving around an alleged civil suit that was filed,” said Leemon.

“From what I understand from media reports, the plaintiff is seeking somewhere in the vicinity of millions and millions of dollars. So, I think that criminal action is brought to set up the civil suit.”

The case stems from an alleged altercation last December between Jones and Smith, in the 5th Avenue Louis Vuitton store. Smith is suing Jones for $7 million due to the pain he claims to have suffered from the incident.
